Most privacy policies explain where your data goes. This one is easier: on SolarCalc, the meaningful answer is that it doesn’t go anywhere — so this page is organized by who could see what, and ends at a very short list.

You → your own screen. That’s the whole trip.

Your roof size, panel count, region, electricity rate and cost figures are read by a script running inside this browser tab and written back onto the same page. There is no calculation endpoint, no results email, no save button that phones home. Want proof? Open your browser’s network inspector, run the calculator, and count the zero requests it makes. Or load the page once, pull the plug, and keep calculating — the math is already in the file you downloaded.

The CDN → the metadata a page request requires

Pages are served by Cloudflare’s edge network. Fetching any URL from any host reveals the plumbing metadata a connection needs — IP address, requested path, timestamp, user agent — which Cloudflare processes to deliver content and filter abuse. SolarCalc runs no user database and no analytics of our own, so there is no account for that metadata to attach to and nothing for it to accumulate into on our side.

Advertisers → their own relationship with your browser

Pages may carry third-party ads (e.g. Google AdSense). Those networks can set cookies or identifiers to count impressions and, where permitted, personalize what they show. That traffic is between your browser and the ad network — your calculator inputs can’t leak through it because they were never transmitted in the first place. Google’s ad settings, private windows and content blockers all govern that relationship; the math works regardless.

The never list

• No accounts, no email capture, no “see your results” gate. The results are already on the page.
• No first-party cookies — the site sets none.
• Nothing in localStorage, sessionStorage or IndexedDB — inputs die with the tab, which is a feature: your roof’s details are nobody’s dataset.
• No sale or sharing of usage data — there is no usage data on our side to sell.
• No location lookup — you pick a region preset yourself; the page never asks your browser where you are.
